Southern Fried Cotton Photo Contest Official Rules

 

How To Enter:
The Dog Photo Contest begins at 12:00:01 a.m. ET on February 24, 2025, and ends at 11:59:59 p.m. ET on March 9, 2025. Entries must be submitted through the online form at here.

Eligibility:
a. Open to legal residents of the United States who have reached the age of majority in their state of residence as of the contest start date. Entrants must have the legal right to submit the photo and provide broad permission for Southern Fried Cotton to use it, or must have secured prior written permission from any other person and/or dog owner depicted in the photo.
b. Winners agree not to use the winning photo for any other contest, promotion, or commercial purpose.

Winner Selection and Criteria:
Winning photograph(s) (final number at Southern Fried Cotton's sole discretion) will be selected from all eligible entries based on the criteria below. Southern Fried Cotton will notify winners by email after the end of the contest period. The chances of winning depend on the number of entries received and Southern Fried Cotton’s assessment of the photos based on:

a. Photo must be original, unpublished, and not copyrighted.
b. Photo should depict a sporting dog living the Southern Fried Cotton lifestyle.
c. Photo must meet the size criteria listed at the point of entry.

Prizes & Retail Value:
Winning photo(s) may be used as an original design by Southern Fried Cotton. The winner will receive:

  • $200 Southern Fried Cotton store credit (redeemable in-store or online).
  • $200 Visa gift card.
  • One (1) 12x12 poster of the dog on the winning design.
    No prize substitution, cash redemption, or transfer is permitted.

General Rules:
a. Southern Fried Cotton is not responsible for lost, late, damaged, delayed, incomplete, corrupted, or misdirected entries due to electronic, network, software, or computer failures, malfunctions, or human error.
b. Southern Fried Cotton reserves the right to cancel or terminate the Dog Photo Contest (or any portion thereof) if fraud, misconduct, or technical failures threaten the integrity of the contest. If feasible, winners may be selected from eligible entries received before termination.
c. In the event of a dispute regarding the winner, the entry will be deemed submitted by the “authorized e-mail account holder.”
d. Any damage caused to the website by an entrant is their responsibility. Attempts to undermine the legitimate operation of this contest may result in legal action.
e. By entering, entrants agree to abide by these official rules and decisions made by the judges, which are final. Entrants must accept the terms of use listed at the point of entry, which grants broad permission for Southern Fried Cotton to use entered photos in any medium for promotional purposes without additional compensation.
f. If a winner is found to be ineligible or fails to comply with these rules, the prize may be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner.
g. This contest is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws. It is void where prohibited. Winners are responsible for any applicable taxes on their prizes.
h. Entrants waive and release Southern Fried Cotton, its affiliates, and all associated personnel from any claims related to participation or acceptance of prizes.

 

RELEASE AND LICENSE

By entering the Southern Fried Cotton Dog Photo Contest, I grant Southern Fried Cotton, its employees, agents, and licensees, the irrevocable right to use, publish, modify, and distribute my submitted photo and likeness in any medium for commercial, promotional, and educational purposes, including but not limited to advertising, marketing, and trade.

For all non-winning photos, entrants may use their submitted photos for personal use but not for commercial purposes or other contests until results are announced. If my photo is chosen as a winner, I agree to use it only for personal purposes and provide written releases covering all individuals and animals in the photo.

I certify that I have written consent from all identifiable individuals, children, and animals in the photo (other than myself or my own pets). Southern Fried Cotton relies on this certification and may request proof before awarding the prize. I release Southern Fried Cotton from any claims arising from the use of my submitted photo and waive any further compensation.

This Release and License benefits Southern Fried Cotton’s successors and assigns and is binding upon my heirs and legal representatives.
